Louai Obeid loses sight in his left eye after being injured with a rubber bullet
Doctors at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital removed the left eye of the 37-year old Louai Obeid after he was injured with a rubber bullet in the eye near his house in the village of Esawyeh.
Louai is a father to five children where the oldest is 14 and the youngest is 4. He didn’t know that leaving his house and standing for a few minutes on the balcony will lead to the removal of his eye and several fractures in the face; he was targeted by one of the Special Forces personnel after raiding the village.
Obeid who is still receiving treatment in Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital explained that the forces targeted him with a rubber bullet when he stepped on his balcony last Wednesday (21/10/2015). He pointed out that he lives on the third floor in the neighborhood of Obeid in the village of Esawyeh. One of the Special Forces personnel was standing in the street when there were no clashes in the area.
He added that he suffered the injury on Wednesday night after coming home from work; he’s a tourist bus-driver.
Obeid pointed out that the rubber bullet resulted in several fractures in the head, nose and skull in addition to the removal of his left eye.
