Silwan: Arresting 6 Jerusalemites and confiscating the Friday Prayer’s tent
The occupation forces raided on Friday the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan and confiscated the tent where the Friday Noon Prayer was intended to be held at against the occupation’s policy of demolishing homes under the pretext of building without a permit.
Wadi Hilweh Information center was informed that the forces raided the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh and were deployed into its streets. They also raided Hosh Abu Tayeh in the neighborhood and confiscated the Friday Prayer’s tent.
Witnesses explained to the center that the forces arrested five young men during the raid, they are: Jalal Abbasi, Firas Abbasi, Mohammad Abu Tayeh, Khaled Abu Tayeh and Mousa Abbasi.
Mousa Abbasi explained that the forces arrested him under the pretext of transporting plastic chairs to the tent using his vehicle. Abbasi declined the charges and confirmed he was heading to a relative’s wedding; he presented the wedding invitation.
Abbasi added that the interrogator took a picture of him and warned him from transporting the chairs to the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh.
Arresting Jawad Siam
On the other hand, the occupation forces arrested Jawad Siam, director of Wadi Hilweh Information Center, under the pretext of obstructing traffic and driving in the wrong direction to obstruct the arrest of the four young men mentioned above. Siam explained that the forces stopped him and took his ID and then asked him to go to Salah Eddin Street police station for interrogation.
Siam added that the interrogator questioned him about obstructing the arrest of four young men from Silwan while driving in the wrong direction; he released him after issuing him a traffic ticket.
The locals of Silwan held the Friday Noon Prayer in Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan to condemn the daily raids on their neighborhood and continuous demolition operations.
