July 1, 2016

Tens of thousands of Muslims performed the fourth Friday Prayer of the holy month of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Islamic Awqaf department explained that 280 thousand worshippers performed the fourth and last Friday of Ramadan.

The courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its alleys were completely full of worshippers who came from all Palestinians lands in addition to Muslims from Islamic and Arab countries.

The occupation prevented men under the age of 45 from the West Bank from entering Jerusalem through the checkpoints established at the entrances of the city of Jerusalem under the pretext of “not having a permit to go through”; 380 worshippers from Gaza Strip were able to enter Jerusalem and reach Al-Aqsa Mosque.

While worshippers attempted to enter Jerusalem through Qalandia checkpoint, the occupation forces heavily fired tear gas canisters towards them which led to the Martyrdom of 63-year old Tayseer Mohammad Mustafa Habash after suffocating from the tear gas. According to the Palestinians Red Crescent, nearly 40 Palestinians were also injured at the checkpoint (15 suffocation cases, 12 due to pushing and the rest were injured with bruises).
