Pictures: A Jerusalemite demolished his home in execution of the municipality’s order
Ahmad Barakat continues to demolish his house in the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan to execute the municipality’s order.
Ahmad explained that he started building his 150-square meters house nearly a year ago knowing that it is still under construction and is on the second floor; he was using metal sheets to build it.
Barakat explained that municipality crews along with Israeli forces raided his house several times during construction and then handed him an administrative demolition order to be executed within 72 hours. He was forced to start the demolition process to avoid high fines and demolition costs.
