Pictures: Dozens of suffocation cases in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan

Dozens of Jerusalemites from the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan were injured late Friday night with severe suffocation during violent clashes that broke out in the neighborhood between young men and occupation forces.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that violent clashes broke out in Ein Al-Lozeh after Special Forces raided the neighborhood and were deployed in the streets.

The center explained that the young men closed the streets with big rocks and threw Molotov Cocktails and launched firecrackers towards the Israeli forces which randomly and heavily fired live bullets, tear gas, sound grenades and rubber bullets.

The center added that dozens of locals suffered severe suffocation due to the extensive use of tear gas canisters. Among the injured was 3-year old Ahmad Abu Diab who was transferred to Hadassah hospital for treatment. Also, 52-year old Khawla Hadyeh was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital for treatment.

The center was informed that the forces stopped the ambulance in Ras Al-Amoud under the pretext of looking for injured young men.

During the clashes, the forces closed the Main Street in Bi’er Ayoub in Silwan and prevented vehicles from reaching Al-Ein, Wadi Hilweh and Wad Al-Rababeh.
