An absentia session- extending the arrest of the injured Ayman Kurd and his brother

The Magistrate judge extended on Tuesday the arrest of 20-year old Ayman Hasan Kurd until 27/9/2016; Kurd was injured after being shot by occupation police in Jerusalem.

The lawyer of prisoners’ affairs, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that an absentia session was held for Ayman Kurd who is currently receiving treatment at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital. He is accused of stabbing and critically injuring two Israeli policemen in the area of Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem.

Lawyer Mahmoud added that he was able to visit his client on Tuesday at the hospital. Doctors have described his situation at stable; he was shot multiple times in the limbs and chest area.

Lawyer Mahmoud also added that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Louai Kurd, Ayman’s brother, until Wednesday to interrogate him regarding posts he had published on his Facebook account. The Israeli authorities unconditionally released Ayman’s other brothers, Ammar 23 and Ala’ 25.
