Joint crews of occupation municipality and Israeli forces raided on Friday the village of Silwan and took pictures of several commercial and residential establishments as well as streets.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that they requested the owners of several establishments to head to the municipality under the pretext of building without a permit.

The center added that municipality crews hung a notice requesting the owners of Wadi Hilweh Playground to head to the municipality knowing that the playground doesn’t have any building. The municipality and Antiquities Authority conducted excavations last February inside the playground under the pretext of “infrastructure repairs” and haven’t repaired the damage they caused since.

Wadi Hilweh Committee explained that the land of Wadi Hilweh playground is privately owned by Siam family and was leased to Madaa Creative Center and was turned into a playground and a playing area for children while the area if being neglected by the occupation municipality and lacks any public parks or playing areas for children. The occupation authorities are attempting to confiscate the land to open a road for the settlers in the area and connect the area of Wadi Hilweh with Wadi Al-Rababeh reaching the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan.

On the other hand, the occupation forces handed Issa Ja’afra an order to follow up with the municipality under the pretext of establishing a tent on the remains of the family’s house which was demolished last month.

Occupation municipality also raided the area where the Friday Prayer was held in Ein Al-Lozeh, Silwan to condemn the policy of demolishing houses and took pictures of worshippers. After the Prayer was over, the Israeli forces randomly fired rubber bullets.
