Silwan: Raiding Madaa Silwan Creative Center and residential houses in the neighborhood of Batn Al-Hawa
December 9, 2016

Occupation forces raided on Friday night Madaa Silwan Creative Center in Silwan concurrently with the deployment of Israeli forces in the neighborhood’s streets under the pretext of throwing Molotov Cocktails at a settlement outpost in the area.

Jadallah Rajabi, a supervisor in Madaa Center, explained that Special Forces individuals raided Madaa Center in Batn Al-Hawa, searched it and checked his ID terrifying the children who were at the center.

Rajabi denounced raiding Madaa Center which provides educational and entertainment activities for the area’s children. When he asked the officer about the reason, he said that Molotov Cocktails and stones were thrown at a settlement outpost in the area. Rajabi expressed his astonishment to the Israeli justification for raiding the center which is far away from the mentioned settlement outpost, and confirmed to the officer that the children were doing sports and art activities and don’t have anything to do with the incident.

Witnesses explained to the center that occupation forces suddenly raided Batn Al-Hawa and assaulted, pushed and yelled at the children in the streets and ordered them to go home. They raided several houses in the area and questioned the residents.
