The occupation opens the “Temple’s Baptism station” on the lands of Umayyad Palaces south of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Occupation authorities opened on Thursday a new path called “Temple’s Baptism station” on the land of Umayyad Palaces south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Islamic sanctities and affairs council in Jerusalem and “Mufti” of Jerusalem as well as the Islamic Awqaf department issued a statement regarding the above mentioned issue. They said:
The so-called Jerusalem Mayor along with extremist Yehuda Glick and a number of participants raided the area of the Umayyad Palaces and declared the opening of “Temple’s Baptism station” on the historic land of Umayyad Palaces which was built in the early stage of the Islamic conquest and was used as the state’s home including the palaces of the Islamic Caliphs and Islamic institutions to manage Jerusalem affairs and Al-Aqsa Mosque nearly 1400 years ago. Those palaces and their roots remained and with the testimony of Jewish archaeologists after nearly 40 years of excavations Umayyad Palaces and there is no evidence showing otherwise.
Despite the Israeli sovereignty on this area since 1967 and their attempts to seize it in order to surround Al-Aqsa Mosque from the southern and western sides and to force Jerusalemites to leave, they are today using new methods to continue their dangerous Talmudic program in their assault on Al-Aqsa and its people.
The statement also said: “The attempts to falsify the reality and history cannot be hidden. The history of Umayyad Palaces is known to everybody including international and official institutions. Opening a new Baptism station for the so-called “Temple” doesn’t mean that they are is now sacred to Jews.”
The statement appealed for the Arab and Islamic world to stand aside the Islamic Awqaf to defend those palaces that are considered the responsibility of the whole world. The UN and UNESCO appealed to hold Israel accountable to their violations of the UNESCO decisions, international agreements, laws and norms.
