The injured young man who also suffered internal bleeding in his head was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital for treatment. Nine other injuries were also transferred to the hospital.

The forces arrested Mohammad Zein after the funeral was over.

People participating in the funeral of Abu Gharbieh were surprised when they were attacked with sound grenades and rubber bullets after the forces seized Palestinian flags from them near the entrance of Al-Sowaneh. They continued walking towards Lions Gate and the soldiers accompanied them all the way in their vehicles in addition to the presence of infantry units.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the forces attacked the participants again near Lions Gate and closed the street. They also deployed their forces at Lions Gate which leads into Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevented the funeral vehicle and young men from entering; several minutes later they only allowed the funeral to enter.

The forces fired sound grenades towards the funeral vehicle and participants that were in the area and injured several young men. They also assaulted them by pushing and beating them.

While the forces were surrounding Al-Rahmeh Gate Cemetery, the body of Ali Abu Gharbieh was buried in the cemetery amid chants of “God is Great” by the participants and heavy presence of Israeli forces.
