Dozens of Jerusalemites were injured on Tuesday night with wounds and bruises after the occupation forces suppressed thousands of worshippers after the Night Prayer at Lions Gate- one of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s gates.

The Palestinian Red Crescent explained they treated 14 injuries that were transferred to the hospital in which one of them was a critical injury. They also treated 20 injuries on field.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that dozens of worshippers were injured with bruises after being attacked by the occupation forces with sound grenades, rubber bullets and batons. They were also pushed and severely beaten after the Night Prayer while performing the “Sunnah” Prayer. Among the injured were several elderly, women and children in addition to medical and press crews personnel.

Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Supreme Islamic Commission, was also with bruises after being pushed; he was transferred to Al-Maqased hospital for treatment.

Protestors continued to demonstrate and pray all five Prayers at Al-Majles Gate and Lions Gates refusing the metal detectors placed on four of Al-Aqsa gates. They confirmed they will continue to demonstrate until removing the metal detectors. The number of worshippers is increasing daily especially during the Evening and Night Prayers where religious and national figures, members of the Knesset as well as Christian religious people participate.

On Tuesday morning, a Jerusalemite family refused to enter the body of a deceased woman through the metal detectors and the locals performed the prayer to her soul at Lions Gate.

The occupation authorities arrested several young Jerusalemite men from the neighborhoods of Jerusalem.
