October 12, 2017

Several young Jerusalemite men were injured with multiple bruises after hundreds of settlers assaulted them while continuing to break into Al-Aqsa Mosque on the last day of Sukkot holiday.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that a group of young men were injured with bruises after being assaulted and beaten by settlers who stormed the Old City in large numbers after Wednesday midnight.

Witnesses explained that hundreds of settlers stormed the Old City and attacked commercial stores in Al-Wad Street and the area of Damascus Gate.

Witnesses added that the settlers raided the African Quarter and threw stones and chairs towards the locals’ vehicles causing damage to four vehicles and one motorcycle; the locals confronted the settlers.

They also assaulted Ibrahim Hashlamon and severely beat him after storming into his store and ruined its contents in the area of Damascus Gate.

They also stormed into the house of Maher Abu Sneineh in Al-Wad Street.

Witnesses explained that the occupation forces just removed the settlers from the area of Al-Wad Street. Upon arrival to the area of Damascus Gate, they assaulted Hashlamon after storming into his shop.

In the morning hours, settlers organized a march in Al-Wad Street amid heavy deployment of occupation forces that placed barricades in the streets and obstructed the movement of locals and merchants.

Settlers continued to break into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday (last day of Sukkot holiday). Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that 122 settlers broke into Al-Aqsa.
