On Tuesday, the occupation municipal crews carried out a demolition operation in the city of Jerusalem, under the protection of the police forces and special forces, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that in the morning hours, municipal crews, police and special forces stormed the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, then Silwan, and surrounded the houses and cordoned off the streets leading to them before proceeding with the demolition process.

The occupation bulldozers demolished two houses for the family of Za'atra, and the family explained that the houses are for Mohammad Za’atra and his brother Thaher. They have a total area of ​​about 250 square meters, and the family started the construction process last April. At midnight, they received a call from the occupation authorities informing them of the decision to demolish their homes. Hours later, the decision was implemented, without the possibility of objecting to it or freezing it.


The occupation municipality displaced 7 individuals, including 5 children, from Abu Diab family, after demolishing their home on the pretext of building without a permit.

Ahmed Abu Diab, the owner of the house, explained that he has lived with a family of 7 members in the house for about 8 years, and since that time he has been trying to license the house, and he has been able to freeze and postpone the demolition decision several times, the last of which was an extension until 5/5/2020. Since then, he has been trying to get another extension, but he was surprised on Tuesday by storming the house after besieging it and the municipal staff started emptying the contents of the house, then demolished it and turned it into rubble.

Self-demolition ... Beit Hanina

The Farrah family self-demolished a room and its facilities in the neighborhood of Beit Hanina after they received the demolition decision on the 27thof last month. A family member explained: "Yesterday, the municipality crews stormed the house for the second time and hung the demolition order that gives us several days to implement the decision, otherwise its bulldozers will do so and we have to pay the fines, and the resulting demolition fees.”

The family explained that the municipality crews demolished their home about two years ago and displaced 11 individuals, after years of attempts to license the house and paying fines to the municipality.

Self-demolition ... Burqan family

The Burqan family was forced to self-demolish their house, which was established 4 years ago, in order to avoid paying the demolition fees. Ala’ Burqan explained that he started the demolition process late Monday night, noting that 6 individuals live in the house including 4 children.

The occupation municipality forced Majed Ja`abees to self-demolish his under-construction house, which has an area of about 100 square meters.

Mashahra familycontinued to self-demolish their homes in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber.

The family explained that they had demolished the homes of Muhammad and Ahmad Suleiman Mashahra, leaving 11 individuals including 7 children without shelter.

The family explained that they were surprised by the decision to demolish the two houses for the benefit of the American street in the area, which caused harm to homes and establishments of the entire area, knowing that the houses have been established since 1997.
