Demolishing houses in Silwan…and agricultural facilities in Issawiya
The occupation bulldozers demolished 3 homes in the town of Silwan, and agricultural facilities in the eastern region of the village of Issawiya in Jerusalem.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Silwan stated that the occupation bulldozers, accompanied by special forces, police and border guards, stormed in the early morning hours the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan, and carried out demolition decisions for the homes of the two brothers, Samer and Suleiman Al-Qaq, and the house of Sharif Amr, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Al-Qaq family explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation forces surrounded the entire house, prevented the family from reaching their homes, and proceeded to demolish the two homes.
Suleiman Al-Qaq and his family of 6, Samer and his family of 4 lived in the two houses that have an of 250 square meters.
Al-Qaq family had emptied the contents of their home the day before yesterday, "the last day of Eid al-Adha," after being informed of the demolition decision, with no possibility of postponing the demolition, or licensing the two homes.
The bulldozers also demolished Sharif Amr's house, which was about 50 square meters.
Amr explained that the building has been in place since 2000, and the municipality issued a demolition order in 2010, and it was postponed and a building violation fine worth 5,000 shekels was paid, and 10 days ago we were informed of the final demolition decision without the possibility of postponing it for a new period.
In the eastern region of Issawiya lands, the occupation bulldozers demolished agricultural rooms and barracks for the Obaid and Abu Jum’a families, and confiscated agricultural equipment.
Mohammad Abu Al-Hummus, a member of the follow-up committee in Issawiya, explained that the area where the demolition was carried out is a large area of land threatened with confiscation in favor of the E1 settlement project, noting that the occupation bulldozers carry out razing and demolition operations from time to time.
