Placing a demolition order on Al-Qa’qa’ Mosque in Silwan
On Monday, the occupation municipality's crews stormed the neighborhoods of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and distributed demolition notices and summon notices to the municipality.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center / Silwan stated that the municipality crews stormed the Kroum Qamar and Abu Tayeh neighborhood in Silwan, accompanied by the occupation police, and placed demolition notices on several facilities, including Al-Qa’qa’ Mosque in Abu Tayeh neighborhood in the town.
The center stated that the municipality staff placed the demolition decision on Al-Qa’qa’ Mosque and gave the residents 21 days to object to it.
The center added that Al-Qa`qa’ Mosque was built with donations from the people of the region about 8 years ago and was expanded two years ago by building the second floor, to serve the neighborhood's population of more than 7 thousand people. All five prayers are held daily at the mosque.
The municipality staff also placed a demolition order on the house of the Secretary of the Fatah Movement in Silwan, Ahmed Al-Abbasi.
