The occupation municipality forced the Yaghmour family to self-demolish part of their house in the Al-Thori neighborhood in Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Hazem Yaghmour explained that the family was forced to demolish part of the house "consisting of the living room and the dining room", in order to avoid paying fines and demolition fees to the municipality.
Yaghmour explained that the house has been in existence since before the occupation, and the family expanded the building 16 years ago and the municipality imposed a fine of 8,000 shekels on it, and about 5 months ago a new fine was imposed on the family worth 16,000 shekels, and also issued a demolition decision for the expansion, and gave the family until next April to implement it.
