On Wednesday morning, the Israeli occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished a house for the Al-Hroub family, in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, south of Jerusalem.

The family of Mohammad Al-Hroub, his wife and two sons, and the family of his daughter and her three children, who were preparing themselves to go to their schools, lived in the house, but the occupation prevented them and deprived them of their school day, as their grandfather, Mohammad Al-Hroub, explained.

Mohammad Al-Hroub added that his house has been in existence for 11 years, and two families have lived in it. Over the past years, he tried to license the house and was able to freeze and postpone the demolition. On Tuesday, the lawyer informed him that the decision was suspended but he was surprised by the forces storming his house, demolishing it and turning it into rubble.

Al-Hroub explained that the municipality imposed on him a building violation worth 35,000 shekels, which he "paid in installments until today", as well as paying tens of thousands of shekels to a lawyer and engineer, in an attempt to license the house.

He pointed out that his wife is sick and suffers from several diseases, and needs treatment, medication and follow-up by specialists.
