Largescale raid in Silwan this afternoon
A large force of Israeli troops stormed Silwan this afternoon, seemingly unprovoked. The raid appears to have been orchestrated, however, in response to the events of last night when settler guards fired live bullets in the streets of Bir Ayyub after a Molotov cocktail was hurled at their building.
Settler guards patrol the streets of Silwan in jeeps between the various outposts of the City of David in Wadi Hilweh district. The political archaeology project is spearheaded by Elad settler association. Numerous other settlements in the Baten al-Hawa region is controlled by Ateret Cohanim
