Extending Mrs Najwad Amter's Arrest & Releasing 6 Women Under Conditions
Israeli forces arrested 7 female students ( Layla al Fakhoury, Rasmiye Abd al Hafez, Fadwa Saeed, Itaf Siyam, Basme Amira, Najwad Emter and Mayaa al Husseini) from the Masatteb project. Some were arrested in the al Aqsa Mosque, whilst others were arrested after leaving. They were taken to the investigation center in "Al Qashla" after accusing them in "Al Takbir" (Al Takbeer means praising God by saying Allahu Akbar loud) in al Aqsa.
Following investigations, 6 were released. Najwad Amter's arrest, however, was extended after she refused to sign and agree to be away from al Aqsa.
The organisation released the following statement through lawyer Khaled Zabarka:
"The Israeli police asked the women to sign the 'self release'. But after they signed it the investigators tricked them and told them they must stay away from al Aqsa for 2 weeks. They also gave 3 of the women investigation requests next Monday."
