Consequence of Raiding al-Aqsa: Confrontations in Jerusalem

  On Friday a few confrontations took place in Jerusalem in reaction to the raid.   Bab Hatta Confrontations started around noon with a few locals preventing Israeli forces from breaking in through the gate. They threw stones at them whilst Israeli forces shot sound bombs and rubber bullets. Two men were arrested.   Shoufat's Camp Dozens of locals were injured by rubber bullets and tear gas. Paramedic Bassem Zidani from Palestinian AID said six citizens had injuries to their upper body from rubber bullets; eight had injuries to other parts. Dozens were suffocated by the tear gas.   Anata Confrontations happened at the village’s eastern entrance. Dozens were injured from rubber bullets and tear gas. During confrontations, sound bombs were shot towards populated buildings and caravans belonging to Atta Azazme, some were burnt. The administrator of Anata's committee, Taha No'aman, explained that he called the Civilian's Defense in al Bira. They came quickly despite the traffic near Qalandia's border. The fire was put out before it reached the caravans, one of the Civilian Defence took members of the Azazme family out of the caravans. There were 15 people, five of them children. No'man said: "The Israeli forces didn't care about the fire; they even shot rubber bullets and gas bombs towards the Civilian Defence’s car. The firemen had to wear masks. The forces gathered in the gas station that belongs to Abu Khalil's family during the confrontations; they used it as a shield. A very dangerous move with costly damages to the station".   Confrontations in al Essawiye and Silwan A small confrontation took place in al Essawiye as Israeli forces raided the Wusta area using many sound bombs.
