Extending Arrests of 34 Jerusalemites & Releasing 11
On Thursday the Israeli Magistrates’ Court arrested 34 citizens from Jerusalem simultaneously releasing another 11 under conditions. Wadi Hilwe's Information Centre confirmed that most of the arrests occurred in the last five days (Sunday to Thursday) in consequence of confrontations at al-Aqsa. The arrests happened at Shoufat's camp, The Old City, al Sawane, Silwan and Sour Baher. Majority of the arrests took place during house raids; homes were searched, furniture was wrecked and clothes confiscated. According to the Centre, they were arrested after they were videotaped during the confrontations by the forces. The Magistrates’ Court extended the arrest of 18-year-old Yazan Siyam from Silwan until next Sunday; he has been accused of attacking an Israeli settler in Jerusalem. He was arrested after his home was raided, its contents wrecked. Forces climbing onto the roofs of his and his uncle’s house, surrounding it before breaking the door. Yazan and his family (mother and sister) were threatened by the forces who put guns to their and their uncle's faces. The Magistrates’ Court arrested 20-year-old Eyad Omar al Shalabi until next Sunday after he was accused of participating in confrontations at al-Aqsa. His house was raided, its contents were wrecked, and his clothes were confiscated. His parents were also investigated. The lawyer Muhammad Mahmood told the Information Centre that the Magistrates’ Court extended the arrest of 34-year-old Muhammad Abed Odeh and 25-year-old Muhammad Bader until next Monday. This allows them to prepare the list of charges against them to take place in the Main court; charge so far include creating bombs and throwing them in Silwan. They were arrested at the beginning of this month, investigated in al Maskubiye and prevented from meeting their lawyers as their hearings were confidential. The court extended the arrests of Muhammad Mahmood Derbas, Ali Bader, Elias al Rajabi, Fayez Mhesen until 24th March 2013 when the parole officer present the reports. The court released Mousa Derbas and Nasri G'anayem without any conditions. Majdi Abu Snene, however, was released on a 2000 NIS bail and conditions of house arrest. Similarly Saleh Derbas was released under a week long house arrest and a 500 NIS bailout. Likewise Mo'tasem Abed Rabo was release on a 3000 NIS bail and house arrest until his court date; he was arrested today at dawn from his house in Soor Baher before release this afternoon. The Main Court sentenced Abas al Abassi to a 13 month prison sentence, charging him with throwing Molotov cocktails and stones in Silwan. He was been under arrest since 11th November 2012. Yesterday Israeli forces arrested Ali Jadallah and Mousa Derbas. Others were also arrested from Soor Baher, including Ez al Din Mahmood Atoun, Fares Sef Hamada and Sayel al Atrash. The Magistrates’ Court released Adel Najib under a 6000NIS bailout and conditions to stay away from his house in the Old City for 15 days, and from al-Aqsa for 60 days. The police released Hussein Komani, after he agreed to stay away from al-Aqsa for 15 days. The lawyer of the Prisoner's Club, Mufid al Haj, said the Magistrates’ Court extended the arrest of Abdalla Khalil Kleb, Loai Abbas, Ahmad al Hattab, Zeyad G'eith, Rouba Yussef, Salah Abu Farha, Isam Mazaro, Shadi al Ajloni, Fadi al Ajloni, Muhammad Dowiyat, Jihad Arar, Ahmad Taha, Karim Jadalla, Sharif Abu Turk, Ahmad al Taweel, Samer Muhammad Ali, Nijem al Kassem, Yussef Arar, Ebrahim Rizek, Hassan G'oshe, Adnan Hijazi until the 24th or 25th March. This is when the Parole Officer presents the report and as the prosecution presents charges against them. The Magistrates’ Court released Nader Abu Dahem, Adnan Najib and the minors Mahmood Mones and Halawa Abu Snene under conditions.
