Old City: Israeli Settler Attacks Woman and Her Daughter
March 19, 2013

On Saturday an Israeli settler attacked 40-year-old Eim Ziyad Abu Hedwan and her 19-year-old daughter Alaa whilst they were passing through a Jewish Area in the Old City. Her husband, Abu Ziyad, told Wadi Hilwe's Information Centre that his wife and daughter were returning from visiting someone in al Sa'diye. On their way to their house near the Dun Gate, they passed the Jewish area where one of the locals chased them. Alaa was pushed before the settler tried to forcefully remove her hijab, choking her in the process. Eim Ziyad started pulling her and the settler sprayed them with gas. Abu Ziyad said they complained at Qishle police station where police took them back to the scene. Here they explain what happened. Abu Ziyad added that there were many cameras in the area which belong to the settlers
