Extension of arrest for 12 Jerusalemites from Silwan and one youth from Sub Baher
The District Court extended the arrest of 13 Jerusalemites from Silwan and Sur Baher. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud from Al Dameer organization informed Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the District Court refused the conditional release of his client Mohammad Amin Abbasi with a bail and house arrest, under the pretext of being “dangerous to the state’s security”, and scheduled him another court date on the 13th of May, 2013.The prosecution accused him of monitoring the throwing of a bomb in Silwan twice. The court also extended the arrest of Khaled Shweiki until the 20th of May and Adli Maragha until the 4th of June and they are both accused of throwing a bomb in Silwan. The District Court extended the arrest of Mohammad Mousa Odeh yesterday until the 13th of May; the day he will be sentenced as well as extending the arrest of Fathi Naser until the 20th of June to be sentenced on that day. Majdi Ahmad Abbasi, 15, Ayman Sameeh Abbasi, 17, and the youths Ayman Mohammad Ali Abbasi 14, and Mohammad Sultan Abbasi, 13 were presented to court and a court date was scheduled to be on the 10th of June for sentencing; note that Ayman and Majdi are arrested but the others are under house arrest and are accused of stabbing a soldier in Ras Al-Amoud and monitoring the process of stabbing. The center found out that the District Court extended the arrest of Tareq Odeh until the 13th of May and Ala’ Abu Sand and Labib Shallodi until the 23rd of the same month. The Israeli occupation forces also arrested the 18 year old Daoud Najeh Bkeirat today at 01:30 a.m. after raiding his house in Sur Baher south of Jerusalem. Sheikh Najeh Bkeirat (Daoud’s Father) said that the masked forces blew out the house’s main door and they were surprised when they saw the policemen with their guns pointed towards their heads who handcuffed Daoud and arrested him. Iyad Al- A’war from Silwan was released yesterday with a bail of 500 NIS and a house arrest of 5 days; note that he was arrested while attending his nephew’s trial “Shidad Al-A’war”. Iyad said that the investigators threatened him to turn his young relatives into drug addicts. The court also refused the appeal submitted by the Israeli intelligence to extend the arrest of Suhaib and Shidad Al-A’war for 10 days which leaves the court date on Wednesday’s afternoon. They are both accused of throwing Molotov cocktails on Ras Al-Amoud settlement. They were arrested last Sunday after raiding their home in Silwan. Um Suhaib said that the lawyer told the judge in Tuesday’s court session that the investigators assaulted and hit Suhaib during the investigation as well as abusing him verbally; pointing out that he was investigated for 24 consecutive hours by the Israeli intelligence.
