Extension of arrest for Abulraheem Barbar until Thursday
May 9, 2013

The Israeli police extended on Wednesday the arrest of 14 year old Abulraheem Izz Eddin Barbar to continue investigating him. The Israeli forces arrested Barbar from Ras Al-Amoud around 7 a.m. on Wednesday while he was on his way to school. They surrounded him and took him to the police car and then to the Maskobyeh. Abulraheem’s mother said that she received a call from the police around 10 a.m. informing her that her son was at the Maskobyeh. Upon arrival of both parents, they were investigated separately and then the father was allowed to witness his minor son being investigated; she pointed out that the investigator claims to have “several charges” against her son. The mother condemned the arrest of her son as he was kidnapped when he was on his way to school clarifying that the police had a warrant of arrest but was waiting to execute the order outside the house. She also said: “A lot of children are being arrested and this is the third time her son gets arrested, but this time he was kidnapped as he was going to school.” She also expressed her worries regarding the continuation of detaining her son since the final exams will start at the mid of this month.
