May 22, 2013

The District court in Jerusalem sentenced Ramah Odeh of actual imprisonment for 15 months, knowing that he was arrested almost a year ago. The Israeli forces had arrested 2 brothers who are 12 and 13 years of age while they were on their way to school in the Old City, and they were taken to Al-Qishleh police station, according to Naser Qos, director of Prisoner’s club in Jerusalem. The District court released Khalil and Mahmoud Odeh with a bail of 1000 NIS for each, and a house arrest for 7 days. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud from Al-Dameer organization said that the Magistrate court judge decided to release both of them on the conditions mentioned above, but the Israeli Intelligence appealed the decision to the District court which denied the appeal on its behalf and released them. He added that the Magistrate court released the two minors, Nadim Rfa’yeh and Mahmoud Hindi with a 2500 NIS bail for each, and open house arrest (until finishing the legal procedures), knowing that they were arrested last Saturday during the Damascus Gate clashes, and an indictment was submitted against them on Monday including charges of throwing stones at the Israeli forces. The court also extended the arrest of Mahmoud Rajabi until September, to hear the witnesses regarding the charges against him. Mohammad Abed Odeh was presented to the District court on Monday as well as Mohammad Bader, which extended their arrest until the 11th of June.
