Extending the arrest of activist In’aam Qlambo and 9 Jerusalemites…and the release of two boys
The Israeli Magistrate court extended on Wednesday the arrest of Jerusalemite activist, In’aam Qlambo, until the 11th of September, 2013.
Prisoner’s Club lawyer, Mufeed Alhaj, explained that Wednesday’s session was dedicated to read the indictment, and during the hearing he denied all of the charges against her, demanding to call all police personnel who provided testimony against his client. He also said that a session is supposed to be held between him and the prosecution on Sunday to discuss the conditional release of his client.
In’aam was arrested on the 2nd of April while participating in a sit-in at Damascus Gate to condemn the death of Martyr Maysara Abu Hamdiya; she is part of the old city African community.
The lawyer said the police released Ahmad Rajabi and 15-year old Mahmoud Najib.
In a related matter, lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud from Al-Dameer organization said that the Magistrate court extended the arrest of Mus’ab Abed Rabbo until next Sunday, and the prosecution submitted an indictment against him which included attacking the police and throwing firecrackers.
The court also extended the arrest of Ali Walid Obeid and Walid Anwar Hussein until the 30th of the current month for sentencing, as the verdict was appealed in Wednesday’s session.
Samer Issa Dibas was presented to court on Wednesday as well and will be detained until the 3rd of next month; the court also extended the arrest of Mohammad Mahmoud and Saleh Mheisen until the 4th of June for sentencing both of them, knowing that they were arrested by the undercover units (Musta’ribin) in El-Esawyeh and were charged with throwing stones and disrupting movement in El-Esawyeh. The District court extended the arrest of Samer Anwar Obeid until the 30th of May.
The Magistrate court also extended the arrest of Izz Eddin Atwan until next Sunday and Shidad Al-A’war until Friday to submit an indictment against him.
The police will detain the boy Ibrahim Al-Baytooni until Thursday, knowing that he was arrested from the old city after leaving his school.
