The release of a young man with mental disabilities from Esawyeh…and extending the arrest of 5 Jerusalemites

The District court in Jerusalem decided to release 19-year old Ahmad Daoud Obeid after paying a 2500-NIS bail and on condition of house arrest, and signing a 10000-NIS bail. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud from Al-Dameer organization submitted an appeal to the District court on Monday against the Magistrate court’s decision to detain Ahmad until the “conduct officer” releases his report on the 15th of September, 2013. The lawyer said that the District court released Ahmad, who has mental disabilities and is also mute, after paying a 2500-NIS bail and on condition of house arrest. Ahmad was arrested last Tuesday and the general prosecution submitted an indictment against him to the District court that included throwing stones at Israeli forces. In a related matter, the general prosecution submitted a general attorney’s permit to submit an indictment against Ahmad Dirbas and Mohammad Hussein in the District court. The court also sentenced on Monday the young man Ali Mohammad Obeid for a suspended probation of 4 months and a fine of 1000 NIS. Shidad Al-A’war, Shadi Al-A’war and Suhaib Al-A’war were presented to the District court on Monday and another court session has been scheduled for them on the 9th of the current month to hear the witnesses against them.
