Citizen Jamal Shkeir calls for human rights organizations to disclose the location where his sons are detained
September 3, 2013

Jamal Shkeir called for the local and international human rights organizations to find out the location of detaining his two sons who were arrested last month. The Israeli forces arrested 19-year old Jalal Jamal Shkeir and his 18-year old brother Yehya from Damascus gate on the 13th of August, 2013. After extending their arrest more than once, an indictment had been submitted against them which included charges of throwing stones at an “Egged” bus and injuring settlers. Shkeir explained that Jalal and Yehya were able to contact him once from Al-Maskobyeh as it is allowed for detainees to use the phone after the investigation is over, and then he was informed that the police prevented them from using the phone for no reason and he didn’t hear anything about them for the last 10 days. He added that he informed the lawyer (state lawyer) of the matter, and asked to visit them in Al-Maskobyeh and after delays by the lawyer, the lawyer’s secretary told him on Tuesday that his two sons were taken to an unknown destination. Shkeir considered the lack of following-up with prisoners’ issues by some lawyers to be “clear prejudice and neglect against the prisoners”, demanding them to take their active role towards the detainees and prisoners in the occupation’s prisons.
