Extending the arrest of 6 Jerusalemites and the release of 15 others
The District and Magistrate courts extended on Wednesday the arrest of 6 Jerusalemites and released 15 others with bails and conditions of keeping them away from Al-Aqsa.
Mufeed A-Haj, prisoner’s club lawyer, said that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of 14-year old Mou’ayad Salaymeh and15-year old Mu’taz Hijazi until Thursday, pointing out that the judge issued the conditions of their releases after finishing investigating them and the police are not obliged to bring them back to court in case they decide to release them, unless there is a need to extend their arrest.
The judge decided to release the teacher at Dar Al-Aytam School in the old city, Ahmad Safadi, on conditions of house arrest and staying away from Al-Aqsa and the school for three days and signing a bail of 5000 NIS and a third-party bail of 5000 NIS.
The court also released Tarek Basti after paying a 1000-NIS bail and staying away from Hutta gate “one of Al-Aqsa Mosque’s gates” for 30 days.
The lawyer explained that the Israeli police arrested 15 people including minors from the old city on Wednesday after the incidents that broke out at Al-Aqsa. Eleven have been released after signing bails without being presented to court.
Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the Magistrate court extended the arrest of 14-year old Laith Husseini and 19-year old Ishaq Gheith until the 8th of September, 2013.
The general prosecution submitted an indictment to the District court against Ahmad Dirbas and Mohammad Hasan Obeid that included charges of being part of the Popular Front and throwing stones, and the court extended their arrest until the 9th of the current month.
The Magistrate court judge released on Wednesday Omar Shalabi, secretary of Fateh movement in Jerusalem, and Omar Abu Arafeh with a third-party bail of 10 thousand NIS and keeping them away from Al-Aqsa for 30 days.
