The demolition of 10 barracks in Al-Z’ayem and the displacement of 100 individuals
The civil administration bulldozers demolished this morning 10 residential barracks, and 10 more that are used to raise sheep and poultry in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Anbar in the village of Al-Z’ayem, under the pretext of building them without a permit. Large Israeli forces surrounded the neighbourhood of Sheikh Anbar and started emptying the barracks from all the contents and then proceeded with the demolition and sweeping processes during which verbal altercations broke out as well as clashes using hands between the local and Israeli forces. All of the barracks are owned by Al-S’eedi families and some of them have been established for 20 years and others built 10 years ago, knowing that this is the third time they demolish the barracks as explained by Abu Mousa Al-S’eedi. Al-S’eedi added that the barracks are built from tin plates and nearly 100 individuals live in the residential ones. He pointed out that they have been trying to obtain a building permit from the Israeli authorities for several years but to no avail.
