The closure of Al-Aqsa for Muslims and opening it for extremists!
September 12, 2013

The Israeli forces arrested on Thursday 7 Jerusalemites from Al-Aqsa and the old city, and prevented all Muslim worshippers from entering Al-Aqsa since the early morning hours. One hundred and thirteen extremists broke into Al-Aqsa on the eve of “Yom Kippur”, and a group of them tried to practice their religious rituals inside its courtyards but were confronted by the guards and the Marabouts where clashes using hands broke out between the two sides. The police intervened and arrested three young men. The police also assaulted all the worshippers while protesting outside the doors of Al-Aqsa, and suppressed a spontaneous march that initiated from Hutta Gate towards the old city and assaulted the participants and made them exit through Lions Gate. The forces purposely assaulted the Marabouts every now and then, and checked the IDs of everyone who was at Al-Aqsa doors for no reason. The police arrested 3 young men at Al-Wad Street and arrested 25-year old Majdi Jbareen while being at Hutta gate and severely beat him. The police prevented over 500 students of Al-Aqsa schools from entering Al-Aqsa to get to their schools. They also fired bombs towards Dar Al-Aytam School in Jerusalem. The Israeli forces closed all doors of Al-Aqsa except for Hutta gate in order for the Awqaf employees to get it, and Dung and Silsileh gates in order to let the extremists in and out. The police allowed the Muslim worshippers to enter Al-Aqsa at 11 a.m. on condition of leaving their IDs at the doors. Clashes broke out by Nather gate after the assault of a Palestinian woman and removing her veil.
