The release of Eyad Al-A’war after being acquitted of the charges against him
The District court judge acquitted on Sunday 42-year old Eyad Al-A’war from Silwan for lack of evidence against him. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the Magistrate court judge decided to release Eyad Al-A’war during the session since the general prosecution was unable to prove the charges against him which was throwing stones in Silwan; noting that a hearing session was held last July to hear witnesses, and Sunday’s session was a continuation to hearing witnesses, and there was a contradiction in the statements of the witnesses in the session and lack of proof of evidence against him. Lawyer Mahmoud pointed out that the judge decided to release Eyad on Sunday with no conditions and acquitted him of the charges against him; note that Eyad was arrested on 19/05/2013 from his house in Silwan.
