Israeli forces assault a child and a young man in Al-Wad Street
The Israeli borders police individuals assaulted on Sunday night a child and a young man in Al-Wad Street in the old city of Jerusalem and injured them with several bruises and burns due to the use of pepper gas.
Witnesses said that an Israeli soldier removed the “No God but Allah and Mohammad is his Prophet” banner from a wall in Al-Wad street and threw it on the ground and stepped on it. A child that was passing by lifted the banner off the ground and right away six borders police individuals followed him and assaulted and severely beat him.
Witnesses added that the child ran to a close-by restaurant “Amir Sandwiches”, but the forces continued chasing him and assaulted him one more time along with assaulting Issa Al-Natsheh –a worker at the restaurant- as they were both sprayed with pepper gas and got hit with batons; they were also threatened with weapons and then both fled to Al-Qataneen market.
The restaurant’s owner said that spraying pepper gas inside his restaurant damaged all the contents in terms of food and sweets.
It is noteworthy that Issa Al-Natsheh went to Al-Qishleh police station on Monday to submit a complaint against the soldiers that assaulted him, but the police at the station decided to detain him for 24 hours.
