Extending the arrest of 13 Jerusalemites and releasing 8 others

The Magistrate court judge extended on Wednesday the arrest of 13 Jerusalemites and released 8 others after imposing financial bails on them. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of 24-year old Sameh Ibrahim Eweisat until Sunday; and 15-year old Mohammad Al-A’war, Ahmad Jalal Al-A’war, and Ahmad Faraj Da’na until Friday. The lawyer added that the judge released 20-year old Mohammad Marwan and 20-year old Hussein Eweis with a 500-NIS bail and signing a similar bail along with preventing them from entering the Jewish cemetery in Ras Al-Amoud for a month; note that they were arrested on Tuesday after raiding their homes in Silwan. He added that the judge released Ismaeel Tawil with a 500-NIS bail and signing a third-party bail of 3000 NIS along with house arrest. Mufeed Al-Hajj, prisoner’s club lawyer, said that the Magistrate court extended the arrest of: Musa Bilal Assouli, Sameh Ibrahim Eweisat, Mus’ab Amjad Mujahed, Fadi Bassam Mamlook, Ma’moon Adnan Natsheh and 14-year old Ahmad Jom’a Khanfar until Sunday to continue investigating them, knowing that they were arrested during the clashes that broke out in Jerusalem on Tuesday. He added that the police released Ahmad Shalodi and Amir Abu Sara without presenting them to court. The general prosecution submitted an indictment against Omar Abu Sirryeh that included charges of throwing stones and assaulting police individuals. Al-Hajj pointed out that the lawyers emphasized on the Musta’ribin (undercover unit) issue that have Arab similar features during their plea as they throw stones towards the Israeli forces and try to stir up the protesters with their slogans and then giving the police a sign to suppress the protest by chanting different slogans. The lawyers said that the stones that hit the police individuals could have been thrown by the Musta’ribin; questions have been directed to the investigator regarding the people who conducted the arrests but he dodged explanation. Naser Qos explained that the Israeli police released 15-year old Eid Waheed Shabaneh on condition of not entering the old city for two weeks and not to be present in Salah Eddin Street and Damascus Gate after 8 p.m. along with signing a bail of 3000 NIS; note that he was arrested after leaving school in the old city of Jerusalem. Qos noted that two other children were also arrested from the streets of the Old City. The judge extended the arrest of Mustafa Bisan until the 10th of next month which is when the so-called “conduct officer” will release his report to discuss the possibility of releasing him with a bail and house arrest. The borders police arrested on Wednesday afternoon a child from the neighbourhood of Ras Al-Amoud after assaulting and severely beating him in front of the settlement in the neighbourhood.
