Sentencing a young man from Silwan and extending the arrest of 5 others and a journalist

The Magistrate court judge sentenced 22-year old Tamer Naser Abbasi for 18 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 6 months for 3 years. The judge also extended the arrest of 5 young men who were arrested on Wednesday early morning hours from their commercial stores and houses, and they are: Mohammad Rukon, Issa Mousa Khars, Majed Jo’beh, Issa Siaj and Marwan Al-Natsheh until next Thursday; note that they underwent a confidential hearing session on Thursday. In a related matter, the occupation authorities arrested the journalist Mohammad Abu Khdeir- Al-Quds Newspaper correspondent- in Ben Gurion airport while coming back from Egypt. Ahmad Safyeh, Prisoner’s Club lawyer, explained that the Magistrate court in “Beer Sheva” held a session for Abu Khdeir and extended his arrest until the 13th of the current month in addition to preventing him from meeting with his lawyer; a large Israeli force raided the home of Abu Khdeir and completely searched its contents.
