Picture of clashes in Ras Al-Amoud after banning the memorial service on the 9th anniversary of the death of Martyr Yasser Arafat
Clashes broke out on Monday night between the young Jerusalemite men and Israeli forces in the neighbourhood of Ras Al-Amoud after the forces raided Silwan Club and banned the memorial service that was going to take place on occasion of the 9th anniversary of the dear of Martyr Yasser Arafat. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli forces evacuated the people who were inside the Club and hung an order on the door that is signed by the Minister of Internal Security “Ishaq Ahranovich” which bans the memorial service of Yasser Arafat under the pretext of being sponsored by the Palestinian Authority. The Center was also informed that the police handed investigation calls to four young men and they are: Ma’moon Abbasi, Anas Abbasi, Mohammad Abu Sway and Ghadyan Qaimari. During the clashes, the Israeli forces randomly fired sound bombs as well as rubber bullets towards the young men who were present near Silwan Club and the young men responded by throwing stones. One young man were injured with shrapnel of a sound bomb while driving his motorbike and was transferred to the hospital for treatment.
