Occupation bulldozers demolish the residential caravans of Castero family under the pretext of building without a permit
The occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished the residential caravans of Castero family in the town of Beit Hanina north of Jerusalem under the pretext of building without a permit. The municipality crews had raided the caravans yesterday and took pictures, and only gave the family until this morning to remove them, otherwise the municipality will demolish them on the family’s expenses. Members of the family started working yesterday on taking them apart and removing them and Wadi Hilweh Information Center monitored the self-demolition process. The family was surprised when a large Israeli force arrived this morning to execute the demolition. The caravans that were demolished belong to Afif Castero and his brother Ayman. The total area of the first one is 64 square meters (3 rooms and their facilities) where 10 individuals live and it cost 100 thousand NIS to build. The second one is 36 square meters where 7 individuals live and the building cost was 70 thousand NIS; note that they have been built from dry wall, tin plates. The municipality crews also handed a demolition order to the room of the third brother, Saleh Castero, which is 64 square meters and is built from bricks. The family was forced to live in tents and caravans in order to save their land after the occupation forces demolished their residential building at the beginning of last February.
