Extending the arrest of 5 minors and releasing two others
The Magistrate and District courts extended the arrest of 5 minors and released two others. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the police released 13-year old Omar Izzo Da’na without any conditions and extended the arrest of his 16-year old brother Ahmad until Sunday on charges of throwing stones at Israeli forces in Silwan; note that they were arrested on Wednesday early morning hours after raiding their home in Silwan. The police also released the child Naser Tawil on Tuesday with a bail of 1000 NIS. Naser was arrested last Monday on charges of throwing stones at an Israeli bus. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the Magistrate court judge extended on Tuesday the arrest of the minors Mahdi Abulhawa, Hashem Abulhawa and Mohammad Mughrabi until next Thursday on charges of assaulting the Jewish cemetery in the neighbourhood of Al-Tur. Suhaib Al-A’war and Shidad Al-A’war were presented to the District court and the judge decided to hold a session at the beginning of next year for sentencing. The child Yazan Siam was lately presented to the Magistrate court on charges of assaulting an Israeli settler and throwing stones. The judge gave the general prosecution until 27/12/2013 to submit an indictment against him; note that he was arrested at the beginning of the current year and was then released on condition of house arrest for 20 days and had attended ten court sessions without submitting an indictment against him. A session was held at the Magistrate court to discuss the charges against Mustafa Siam who is charged of assaulting an Israeli settler. The judge postponed the case until the 27th of the current month; note that he was arrested on 22/05/2013 for 24 hours and was released with a bail of 1500 NIS.
