November 21, 2013

Dozens of Israeli extremists, Jewish students and employees of the Israeli Antiquities Authority broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque through Dung Gate and under protection from the police. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that 27 extremists, 49 students and 3 employees from the Israeli Antiquities Authority and 3 intelligence officers carried out tours in Al-Aqsa courtyards. In a related matter, the Israeli police banned 3 young men from entering Al-Aqsa under the pretext of “being dangerous to the people’s security”. The young men are: 38-year old Akram Shurafa, 35-year old Saher Ghazzawi and 55-year old Aziz Abbasi. The young men explained that they were prevented from entering Al-Aqsa on Monday and Tuesday as ordered by the “religions officer”. They said that the officer put their pictures and names on all of Al-Aqsa gates; note that the prevention order is only verbal and they have not received any official document. They also pointed out they have been arrested in the past and were isolated from Al-Aqsa. They condemned not allowing them to enter Al-Aqsa while dozens of settlers and extremists are allowed to break into Al-Aqsa on a daily basis.
