Clashes in Silwan and the arrest of three young men
Clashes broke out on Thursday night in the neighbourhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli forces raided Hosh Abu Tayeh in the neighbourhood of Ein Al-Lozeh and also raided a store that sells construction tools, a grocery store and a Laundromat. They also checked the IDs of the men present inside the stores and detained one of them inside a police car and violently assaulted him for no reason which led to the break out of clashes between the locals and Israeli forces. The clashes spread to the neighbourhood of Bi’er Ayoub and Middle neighbourhood where the Israeli forces sprayed pepper gas at the young men and injured two of them in addition to firing rubber bullets and sound bombs; they also established checkpoints at the entrances of Wadi Hilweh and Wadi Rababeh and stopped cars for checkups. Witnesses informed the Center that the forces arrested three young men; among them was 23-year old Khalil Riyad Qaraeen.
