Cracks and collapses in the house of Mohammad Al-Ghoul in the old City
Cracks and collapses occurred in the house of Mohammad Al-Ghoul located in Hosh Assileh in the old city of Jerusalem due to the Israeli excavations underneath. Mohammad Al-Ghoul “Abu Samer” explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the family was surprised on Friday night when wide cracks occurred in their house as part of the kitchen’s ceiling collapsed in addition to other collapses in the floors of other rooms in the house and cracks in the walls. He added that the first time the cracks occurred was seven years ago but increased on Friday night in a sudden and dangerous way noting that he was forced to leave his house fearing that another collapse might occur. He also pointed out that 12 individuals live in the house (father, mother and their children where the oldest is 27 and youngest is 5 years). He explained that the sounds of excavations underneath Hosh Assileh are heard on a daily basis as they start digging at night and stop in the early morning hours where heavy duty machines are used and eventually cause cracks and collapses in the Hosh.
