Extending the arrest of 7 children from Esawyeh
The Israeli Magistrate court extended the arrest of 7 Jerusalemite children from Esawyeh on Sunday. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, said that the Israeli general prosecution submitted on Sunday a prosecutor’s permit to submit an indictment in the District court against 7 children from Esawyeh between the ages of (14-16) years that included charges of throwing Molotov cocktails at a military camp in the village. The children are: Nour Eddin Obeid, Dia’ Obeid, Mu’ath Obeid, Mohammad Samir Obeid, Adham Sabteh, Odai Obeid and Mohammad Amin. The lawyer explained that arresting the children and investigating them is against Israeli and International laws as they were all arrested from their homes in the early morning hours and were taken alone in the police cars. They were also investigated without the presence of their parents and the investigators psychologically pressured the children to force them to confess to the charges against them. He added that the court extended the arrest of 16-year old Raed Murrar until Tuesday to investigate him on the same charges; note that Raed was arrested on Sunday early morning hours from his home in Esawyeh. The occupation police released a statement on Sunday that they extended the arrest of the children on charges of forming a “cell” and throwing Molotov cocktails at the buildings of the Hebrew University as well as the military camp and Israeli cars. The police added that the individuals of the “cell” who are divided into two groups confessed to the charges against them during the investigation and are all members of the Democratic Front for the liberation of Palestine.
