The occupation spoils the citizens joy of snow by arresting 8 Jerusalemites
Playing with snow turned into clashes with the Israeli forces in several neighbourhoods in the city of Jerusalem as the forces spoiled the joy of the locals by arresting several children and firing sound bombs towards them. On Thursday morning, the Israeli police arrested two Jerusalemite young men after they raised the Palestinian flags near the Dome of the Rock which was covered with snow and then released them an hour later. In the afternoon hours, the police arrested three children from Esawyeh while they were playing with the snow near the entrance of the village by the Hebrew University under the pretext of throwing snowballs towards the cars. The forces fired rubber bullets towards the locals while they were outside playing with the snow and prevented them from being present in that area, one of the officers said: “Go to Esawyeh and play over there, you are not allowed to play over here.” The forces also arrested a young man from Dung Gate and two from Beit Hanina under the pretext of throwing snowballs at settlers and Israeli forces. Clashes also broke out in several places in Jerusalem while the children and young men were enjoying the snow. The names of detainees that were available to Wadi Hilweh Information Center are: Abdullah Hisham Obeid, Mohammad Ismat Obeid, Malek Sweiti, Ahmad Hadeeb, Walid Firowi and Samir Karameh.
