In pictures…the demolition of 5 residential and commercial barracks in Ezaryeh
The Israeli bulldozers demolished on Monday morning 5 residential barracks and one barracks used for selling vegetables and a carwash in Ezaryeh under the pretext of “state’s property” in order to build the separation wall and isolate the villages of Abu Dis, Eastern Sawahreh and Ezaryeh from the southern areas and to start implementing the settlement project (E1). Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the commercial and residential barracks are owned by Al-Jahaleen Arabs and have been built for 60 years. They received demolition orders at the end of last year that were entitled “demolition and deportation”. They were surprised on Monday when the Israeli forces broke into the barracks at 2 a.m. and evacuated the residents and detained them in an area and prevented them from moving despite the cold weather; verbal altercations and clashes using hands broke out between the residents and the forces. Sami Abu Ghalyeh, secretary of Al-Jahaleen Arabs and one of those affected, said that the5 residential barracks were demolished and 55 individuals were displaced. He pointed out that the barracks were built from tin plates and wood and a barracks used for selling vegetables and a carwash were also demolished; note that 9 families live off the carwash and the commercial barracks.
