The Jerusalem municipality requires a Jerusalemite to pay 248 thousand NIS to develop the area
Employees of the Jerusalem municipality lately handed Ahmad Mousa Siam a payment slip of 248 thousand NIS to “develop the area” in order to get a license to build part of his home in the neighbourhood of Al-Farouq in Jabal Al-Mukabber. Mustafa Siam explained that his father lately received a slip to pay 248 thousand NIS to develop the area and gave him until 18/03/2014 to pay in order to get a license to built part of his house (kitchen and 4 balconies), and threatened to demolish the part of the house that is not licensed in case he fails to pay. He explained that the building consists of 2 apartments and has been built since 1994 and the family had made the necessary procedure to obtain a building permit and had paid over 200 thousand NIS.
