A special lecture at the Israeli Knesset to discuss the educational UNRWA curriculum
February 23, 2014

Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Silwan was informed on Sunday about that intent of Yoni Tshitbon who is a member in the Israeli Knesset and the Jewish Home party to hold a special session on Monday at the Knesset and discuss the educational curriculum that is being taught at the UNRWA schools which have more than half a million students. The Center explained that Tshitbon lately called for a session to discuss the curriculum taught at the UNRWA schools; note that he sent an invitation to several officials and diplomats in western consulates of all countries that fund the UNRWA. Doctor Arnon who is a member of the Advisory Council for the Israeli-Palestinian school research project and who translated and evaluated the UNRWA curriculum will be participating in the lecture. He will discuss the “right of return and the armed struggle” as being taught in the UNRWA schools. Also, Doctor Enat Wilf who focused his research about the UNRWA’s role in “the perpetuation of Israeli-Palestinian conflict” will also participate and will discuss “reforming the practices of UNRWA on the road to peace.” The Center added that this lecture is not official as much as it is a promotional attempt to put pressure on the international community and donor institutions for UNRWA to change the Palestinian school curriculum. التعليم مناهج
