Knesset discusses the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque
The Israeli Knesset discussed in a special session on Tuesday night o transfer the sovereignty over Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Jordanian guardianship to the Israeli authorities as proposed by the extremist "Moshe Vigln", Deputy Speaker of the Knesset. Views were divided between supporters and opponents of the proposal made by extremist Vigln who stressed during the meeting on the need to let all the Jews enter to the "Temple Mount" and that they should not surrender and should be able to freely pray inside it. He Members of the Parliament called to divide Al-Aqsa between Muslims and Jews like the Ibrahimi Mosque, and requested Netanyahu to provide them with protection and secure their entry into Al-Aqsa and not give up their rights since this place is considered a holy place for Jews and that they have no value without it. Other members from all parties warned of the dangerous proposal made by Vigln and the consequences of it and recalled Sharon when he broke into Al-Aqsa in 2000 which led to the breakout of the second Intifada. The session ended without taking any decisions and a new date will be set for another session.
