In pictures…starting to implement the settlement project “Central Overlooking”

The Israeli authorities lately started implementing a new settlement project in the neighbourhood of Al-Sowaneh east of the walls of Jerusalem entitled “Central Overlooking”. The project will be implemented in a strategic place that overlooks the city of Jerusalem, the Old City Quarters and the Church of Gethsemane. According to the blueprints, a calibrate will be built and monitoring points in addition to infrastructure works “lighting and tiling” which will be done by “Moria” company in cooperation with the Jerusalem municipality and the so-called company “Jerusalem development.” Ahmad Sub Laban, s settlement affairs specialist, said that the project aims and connecting the settlement of Bet A’ort with the Church of Gethsemane and so create a geographical connection between the settlement outposts and parks in Silwan and Ras Al-Amoud and the other parks located in Al-Tur and Al-Sowaneh. He explained that the Israeli Minister and head of Jewish House party, Naftali Bent, supervises this project through a department specialized in Jerusalem affair called “Department of Development and initiatives in East Jerusalem”. He allocated 21 million dollars for this project under the pretext of strengthening the tourism sector.
