Closing Al-Aqsa Gates and preventing the young men from performing the Evening and Night Prayers
May 5, 2014

The Israeli occupation authorities closed Al-Aqsa Gates on Monday afternoon and prevented those under the age of 50 from entering. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli police closed Al-Aqsa Gates and prevented those under the age of 50 from entering and praying inside at times of Jewish calls to raid Al-Aqsa on occasion of “Independence Day” in a new attempt to impose the Israeli sovereignty on Al-Aqsa and only allowing Jews to enter and pray inside. Dozens of young Palestinian men were forced to perform the Evening and Night prayers outside Al-Aqsa Gates. Groups and organizations of the “alleged Temple” called to organize a Talmudic march entitled "Jewish independence in the Temple Mount” which will launch at 05:30 p.m. from Jaffa Gate –one of the Old City’s Gates- towards Al-Aqsa where the participants will attempt to sneak Israeli flags inside Al-Aqsa in an attempt to raise them on. In a related matter, the Israeli police arrested Khadija Idris after she was handed a call for investigation; note that she was transferred to Al-Maskobyeh after she answered the call and reported to Al-Qishleh center. The police also arrested Abed Ismaeel from inside Al-Aqsa and isolated Firas Sawaed from Al-Aqsa Mosque for 21 days; note that Firas is from inside the 1948 lands (green line).
