May 6, 2014

The Israeli police continued their seige on Al-Aqsa Mosque by preventing young men and women from entering and only allowing settlers to break-in. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that 43 settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque through Dung Gate and carried out a tour in its courtyards at times when Muslims (men under the age of 50 and women of all ages) are prevented from entering. The police allowed the students of Al-Aqsa Schools and Administrative and Educational Commissions to enter after detaining them for nearly an hour at Al-Aqsa Gates. Dozens of young men and women performed the Morning Prayer at Al-Aqsa Gates due to the seige imposed on Al-Aqsa. The Israeli forces arrested three young men and injured 15 others during the violent clashes that broke out near Hutta Gate after dozens of Muslims were denied entrance. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that clashes broke out on Tuesday morning after the forces prevented men and women from entering Al-Aqsa and detained them near Hutta, Al-Nather and Al-Silsileh Gate. The forces suddenly started firing sound grenades and rubber bullets towards the Marabouts near Hutta Gate and assaulted them. The paramedics officer in the Arab Paramedics Union, Eyad Abu Sneineh, explained that 15 citizens were injured during the clashes that broke out near Hutta Gate in which 5 of them were transferred to the hospital to receive treatment that included an injury in the chest with a rubber bullet and the injury of an old women who was hit with a sound grenade in her foot. The forces arrested Hussam Sider who is an employee of Al-Aqsa Mosque Construction Committee, 22-year old Saleh Sweiti who is a student in Al-Aqsa (Masateb) and Mohammad Ayesh, the Imam of “Al-Bahar Mosque” in Jaffa; note that the forces assaulted Sheikh Ayesh and severely beat him especially on his face.
